What is Pier?
Your whole local stack in one window — every dev server, script, database, and share link, started, observed, and stopped in one place.
Every project starts the same way. Find the folder, open a terminal, run the commands you always run. Then do it again for the next project. Pier folds that routine into one quiet window.
It's a desktop app. Point it at a project folder and it works out the stack, the package manager, and the scripts on its own. From there, starting a dev server, a database, or a public share link is a click, and everything Pier starts runs where you can see it and stops cleanly when you're done.
It isn't an IDE and it doesn't replace your terminal. Pier orchestrates and observes. You'll still open a terminal — just less often.
What Pier does
Run everything side by side
Start every dev server on its own myapp.localhost domain with trusted HTTPS. Nothing orphaned when you stop.
Share beyond your machine
Turn any running server into a live HTTPS URL for phone tests, webhooks, and demos. Nothing to install.
Provision your local backend
Postgres, Redis, and more in one click — connection string ready, password already in your OS keychain.
Bring your agents aboard
Agents work through Pier — every command and tool call tracked, every permission yours, strays reclaimed.
